Nerf Gun and Swim Night to be held
MENOMINEE — The Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA will hold a Nerf Gun and Swim Night at the gym, 1600 West Drive, Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. for children in grades 2 and 3 and March 2 for children from grades 4 to 6. The gym will be set up with various obstacles and cover for “pick-up style” nerf gun battles and contests. Eyewear and bullets will be provided, but participants must bring their own nerf weapons and a suit and towel for swimming. Registration is encouraged.

YMCA challenges public to triathlon
MENOMINEE — The Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA is challenging the public to complete a 31-day triathlon beginning March 1. Participants will have 31 days to complete a 2.4-mile swim; a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile walk. Registration is $50 for members and $100 for non-members, and will include a ¼ zip long-sleeve shirt and the use of the facilities at the YMCA to complete the challenge.

SEED program receives $1,000
PESHTIGO — Peshtigo High School students Devyn Wauters and Sidney Gullicksen, who help run the S.E.E.D. (Students Eat Every Day) program which is a food backpack program that provides food for students over weekends and breaks, received a check for $1,000. The funds were generated from a grant/partnership between New Life Church and Walmart and the check was presented by Pastor Bobbi Hubert of New Life Church, 810 Frontage Road.
