Service officer to hold office hours
HERMANSVILLE — Mike Dellisse, Menominee County Veterans Service officer, will hold office hours at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Post 340, Wednesday, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Veterans or widows who need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims, Agent Orange, headstones, grave markers, or for information on the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iron Mountain or for information on the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund for Menominee County are invited to meet with Dellisse. This service is free and veterans need not belong to any service organization.

The Post will also hold its regular monthly meeting at the American Legion club room, Thursday at 6 p.m.
Mardi Gras celebration to be held Sunday
MENOMINEE — The Holy Spirit Catholic Church is hosting its Mardi Gras celebration at St. John Paul II Catholic Academy, 2701 17th St., Sunday with dinner, featuring traditional homemade chicken with all the trimmings, served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost per dinner plate is $9 for persons 13 and older; $5 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and younger.
There will be music, 50/50 and bucket raffles and a variety of activities which will continue until 2 p.m. There will also be the drawing for the $1,000 cash raffle and fourteen other cash prizes.
