Child and Babysitting Safety Course offered
MENOMINEE — The American Safety and Health Institute will hold a Child and Babysitting Safety Course, for persons from 10 to 21 years old, at the Marinette-Menominee YMCA, 1600 West Drive, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Spring Itsy Bitsy story time to be held
MARINETTE — Spring Itsy Bitsy Story Time will be offered May 23 at 11 a.m. at the Stephenson Public Library.
This program is for children, up to 3 years old, and their parents or caregivers; siblings are also welcome. The group will share short stories, songs and interactive play to foster bonding and learning, followed by play and exploration time.
There will be no Itsy Bitsy Story Time May 30 or June 6. Summer Itsy Bitsy will begin June 13. Itsy Bitsy Story Time is free and open to the public; registration is not required. Run for Recovery to be held June 2
CRIVITZ — The second annual PTSD-Run for Recovery, sponsored by Netzel-Zenz American Legion Post 413, will be held in the Shaffer Pavilion at the Crivitz Community Veterans’ Park, June 2 beginning at 9:30 a.m. This year the 5K run/1-mile walk will also include a fun run for children. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

Flea market to be held at Spies
MENOMINEE — The Friends of Spies Public Library will sponsor a flea market, which will be held in the parking lot of the library, 940 1st St., June 2 beginning at 8 a.m. There will be perennial plants, books and a variety of flea market items for sale. Parking spots will be available, free of charge, for persons who wish to participate, but they will be required to furnish their tables, chairs, etc., and sign a release form before June 2.

Food distribution schedule announced
MENOMINEE — The Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency (CAA) quarterly Emergency Food Assistance Program distribution will take place at the Mid County Senior Center, 292 S. U.S. 41, Daggett, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and June 8 at the Menominee Senior Center, 905 10th St., from 8 to 11 a.m. and the Hermansville Senior/Community Center, W5480 1st St., from 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 2 p.m.
The program is for residents who qualify with a household income below 200 percent (one person earning $2,010 per month and two people, $2,707 per month) of the federal poverty guidelines. Residents, who must be 18 years and older, do not have to pre-register but must self-declare their income at the time of receiving commodities. All food items are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
