All-you-can-eat breakfast to be held
HERMANSVILLE — The Hermansville American Legion Post 340 will have an All-you-can-eat pancake/french toast breakfast at the post, W5503 River St., Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m. The cost is $6 per person, $3 for children 5 to 11 years old, and free for persons older than 90 and younger than 5. All proceeds will benefit Legion projects.
All-you-can-eat smelt dinner offered
MARINETTE — The Marinette Moose Lodge will have an all-you-can-eat smelt dinner at the lodge, 5233 E Nettleton Road, Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $9.50 per person and $4.75 for children younger than 12 and the proceeds will benefit the Foster Grandparents Foundation.
The Green Bay Perch Fry held to benefit The Salvation Army garnered an $810.15 donation to the group and another Green Bay Perch Fry will be held March 14 to benefit the DAR Boys and Girls club.
Lord’s Diner to continue Wednesdays
MARINETTE — The Lord’s Diner, an evening meal mission, continues at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Pierce Avenue and University Drive, every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The Lord’s Diner serves a variety of hot meals; a food pantry is available during the meals. The sponsors are St. Vincent de Paul, Faith Church, Community Covenant Church, St. Paul’s Church, St. James Church, the Christian Motorcycle Association and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Quilters’ group to meet Thursdays
MARINETTE — Our Savior’s Lutheran quilters’ group will meet in the church hall, University Drive and Pierce Avenue, Thursday, and every first and third Thursday of each month, at 8 a.m. Volunteers of varying talents and experience, sewing and non-sewing are welcome. The finished quilts are donated to local charities and the Lutheran World Relief.

Books being collected for used book sale
MARINETTE — The Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization of women educators, will hold its annual Gigantic Used Book Sale at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 1947 Riverside Ave., April 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. and April 7 from 8 a.m. to noon.
There will be a vast array of fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, large print books and other media available and will be sold for $4 per bag April 7. The church will also have a bake sale. Readers can have an opportunity to recycle accumulated books and restock their bookshelves by donating their used books (no textbooks or encyclopedias) at Jack’s Fresh Markets, 1401 8th Ave., Menominee and 1507 Cleveland Ave., Marinette; the YMCA,1600 West Drive, Menominee; the Civic Center, 2000 Alice Lane, Marinette and Bergie’s Spoonful of Sugar, W2508 County Trunk B, Marinette. The group will collect books from March 5 to 28.
