Eighth-grade exhibit on display Monday
PESHTIGO — The Peshtigo Middle/ High School will exhibit pieces of artwork done by the eight-grade students in the school’s Library Media Center (LMC), 380 Green St., Monday through Jan. 12; Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. For more information, persons may call the school, 715-582-3711.
Zumba, yoga classed offered
MARINETTE — The Marinette Senior Center will offer a new higher intensity, seven-week session of Zumba C & G Class at the center, 1603 Ludington St., Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 21 from 4:15 to 5 p.m. The class, led by certified instructor Tammy Vieth, is geared towards those seeking a cardiovascular and strength building workout and will include the use of hand weights and stretch bands. Participants will need to bring their own hand weights and a mat but bands will be provided.
The center is also offering a new seven-week session of beginner Yoga, Thursdays, beginning Jan. 11 through Feb. 22 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The class will be a form of yoga derived from Hatha Yoga, a type of flow yoga, using slower movements and common poses. Participants will need to bring their own Yoga mat.
The new seven-week session of Yoga/Pilates will run every Tuesday beginning Jan. 16  through Feb. 27. The new class has the flexibility-enhancing benefits of Yoga, combined with the toning-centered workout of Pilates.
The cost of each class is $18 for members and $20 for guests and persons may join the sessions at any time and the fees will be prorated accordingly.
Advance registration is required for each class and deemed complete upon payment of class fee. Foster Grandparent group to hold in-service
DAGGETT — The Menominee County Foster Grandparent program will have an in-service meeting at the Mid-County Senior Center, 292 South U.S. 41, Daggett, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. CST.  Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

UW-Marinette offers sign language class
MARINETTE — UW-Marinette Continuing Education Department will be offering a 10-week American Sign Language class led by Denise Miller, for beginners and advanced learners, in Room M107 on the campus, 750 W Bay Shore St., Tuesday evenings beginning Jan. 16 through March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost of the class is $149 and participants are required to purchase “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Conversational Sign Language-Illustrated.”
The university will also be offering an emergency pet care class, which will be held in M109 Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The class, led by veterinarian Kaytee Firnett, will be covering basic pet first aid, first aid kit essentials, common medical emergencies, when pet owners can help their pet at home and when they should see a veterinarian. The cost of the class is $25.
