Parkinson’s group plans holiday meeting
MENOMINEE — The M&M Parkinson Support Group invites the public to its annual holiday gathering and meeting at the Harbors Retirement Building, 1110 10th Ave., Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. There will be a holiday sing-along with Marla and Norman Tuinstra and treats of the season offered. This is a free event and as always, literature concerning Parkinson’s will be available and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy and fellowship with others experiencing the same challenges that the disease presents.

PESHTIGO — The Peshtigo School District will have developmental screening for children 2½ to 5 years old at Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center, 341 N. Emery Ave., Jan. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Mardi Gras tickets available
MENOMINEE – Tickets for the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Mardi Gras raffle are now available from parish council members before or after Masses: Saturdays at 4 p.m., Sundays at 7:30 and 10:15 a.m. and from the parish office 10th Street and 10th Avenue; Mondays to Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursdays from  9 a.m. to noon.
The church is offering 500 raffle tickets from Saturday through Feb. 1 at a cost of $20 each. There will be 15 cash prizes awarded: 1st place $1,000; 2nd, $500; 3rd, $250; 4th to 6th, $100 each and 7th to 15th, $50 each.
The raffle drawing will take place at  St. John Paul II Catholic Academy, 2701 17th St., Feb. 11 (Mardi Gras Sunday) where there will be homemade chicken dinner and more, but persons need not be present to win.

 Y offers group fitness classes
MENOMINEE — The Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA is offering free group fitness weeks at the facility, 1600 West Drive, Sunday through Dec. 31. Registration is required for classes with limited space or equipment. There will also be a one-mile “Resolution Run,” Jan. 1. The registration fee is $20 and participants will receive a free shirt if registered by Wednesday.
