TOB play opens tonight
MARINETTE — “Menominee River Mysteries: The Summer of ‘27,” a new play written by Menominee resident Anthony LaMalfa is set to open at the Herbert L. Williams Theatre on the campus of UW-Marinette today and run through Sunday and then again from Nov. 17 to 19.
Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students, free to current UW-Marinette students with ID and veterans at the Nov. 11 performance.

A free, opening night reception will be held today from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m., in the theatre lobby.
Zion Lutheran holds bake sale Saturday
PESTIGO — Zion Lutheran Church will be holding a bake sale at the church 221 S. Ellis Ave., Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will be going to local families in need this Christmas.

CRIVITZ — The Crivitz and Wausaukee School Districts, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and River Cities Habitat for Humanity Tiny House Partnership projects received the 2017 Standing Up for Rural Wisconsin Schools, Libraries, and Communities Award during a program and reception Oct. 31 in Wisconsin Dells.
Nominated by education and library professionals, the award-winning programs demonstrated the great potential and collaborative spirit of rural Wisconsin and were recognized during the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance conference.
