Adam Gaines (left), associate professor of music at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, will perform with the Northeastern Wisconsin (N.E.W.) Concert Band at its Fall Concert Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the W.J. Jones Auditorium at Marinette High School, 2135 Pierce Ave. In addition to teaching the trumpet studio, Gaines directs jazz ensembles, teaches jazz history courses and works with music technology. He has performed as a soloist in Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria. In the Green Bay area he can be heard performing with Gypsy Trip, a Django Reinhardt-inspired jazz combo, and Brass Differential, a New Orleans-style funk band. This is the band’s 26th season. Each season, the band plays one concert in the fall and another in the spring. Concert tickets will be available at the door for $5 for adults and $2 for students.
