T-ball registration available
COLEMAN — The Village of Coleman announces T-ball registration for the summer will be at 9 a.m., April 1, at the village park pavilion. Sign up will also be available at the municipal building Monday-Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Practices will be held each Sunday afternoon in April and May with games following. Tickets are now on sale for the DAR Taste of the M&M Counties. They can be purchased at Schloegel’s, two Jack’s Fresh Market locations (Menominee & Marinette-Roosevelt Road), Lee’s Family Foods in Peshtigo, the DAR and Riverside Golf Club. The event will take place April 27 at Riverside Golf Club.
Literacy group receives donations
Marinette and Oconto Counties Literacy Council Inc. recently received two grants.
Paula Gruszynski, executive director of the Marinette and Menominee Area Community Foundation informed the council that, “We are happy to present a $2,000 check ... for the Literacy Council.” She emphasized this is the full amount requested and awarded from the M&M Area Community Foundation, and the foundation is “happy to be partners” with the Literacy Council.
Wisconsin Public Service Foundation also informed the council that the foundation had reviewed and approved the full award of $2,000 for Project Promotion. The foundation announcement said, “We are making this contribution because we believe your organization benefits our community, and because we have a long history of supporting worthwhile programs that better the lives of our neighbors. In return for this support, we ask only that you continue your dedication to the community, ... with our very best wishes for the continued success of your activities.”

Center to hold camera class
MENOMINEE — Menominee Senior Center will hold a Navigating the Digital Camera class March 14 and 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of a digital camera to help them understand how to use the buttons, switches and menus. The program is designed to cover any style camera from a “point-and-shoot” to digital SLR. Participants should bring a camera and manual to class.
Cost for the two-day class is $25. Preregistration is required by Monday at 3 p.m. Class size is limited. People may call 906-863-2158 to sign up.
