MENOMINEE — The General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) of Menominee hosted the State District Five Meeting with an emphasis on Stepping Forward together. It was a crowd of women from GFWC Clubs across the State of Michigan. The theme of the meeting emphasized that GFWC Projects leave an impressive footprint across the entire state that inspire members to continue Living-the-Volunteer-Spirit and keep them involved and in touch with their communities through numerous service projects.

One footprint includes the GFWC Menominee Woman’s Club annual Holiday Wreath Fundraiser. In the past this same fundraiser has most recently supported construction of flagpoles and a granite inscribed bench at the new Veteran’s Memorial of the Riverside Cemetery. All profits this year will be donated to support the construction of a Pergola in Triangle Park. The wreaths and swags come in a range of sizes and decoration and are constructed of live balsam and cedar boughs.

Information can be found on the website www.gfwcmenominee.org. All orders for Holiday Wreaths and Swags are due by Nov. 10 for delivery by Thanksgiving. To place an order, people may contact Pat Krah at 906-863-5411.

All area women are invited to join our club. They can call 906-290-6991.

The next general membership meeting will be Nov. 7 at noon at the Riverside Golf Club with the featured program being Travel and Cruise Tips and Tales.
