MENOMINEE -- The River Cities Concert Association donated a new sound system and equipment to be installed in Blesch Auditorium, as part of an ongoing renovation through RCCA.
The new sound system and equipment includes: A completely new sound system including speakers, mixer board, amplifier, microphones with stands and an iPad so it can run on WiFi. The RCCA board has been saving money for several years to help renovate Blesch Auditorium. The RCCA has also donated an acoustical shell and a 9-foot Baldwin concert grand piano.
The newly installed sound system will replace New Life Church’s sound system that the church lent out to local organizations before they moved from Blesch Auditorium to a new building, as well as a portable sound system the church donated to be used at venues in the school district after they moved. Other groups have purchased some of their own equipment to use at their recitals and musicals or had to bring in an outside company to run their show.
RCCA wants to make the equipment available to other concerts such as the Milwaukee Symphony. Any group that is interested in using any of the equipment may call Keith Akins at 906-863-7387.
The new sound system allows RCCA to bring in big shows such as the Glenn Miller Orchestra, coming this spring, or Forever Young, a full musical production featuring favorite hits from the 1960s to the 1990s, scheduled Feb. 6.
Memberships are still available and people may donate money and support the organization by attending RCCA concerts. People may also check out the RCCA website at rcconcerts.com, pick up a brochure at the local libraries or call Ann Buscher, 715-735-3017; or Barb Akins, 906-863-7387, for more information.
