MENOMINEE — The Spies Public Library, 940 First St., will hold a reception for the Painted Walleye Exhibit Dec. 12, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The exhibit, displayed in the Library Art Gallery and featuring the 26 painted walleyes, will run throughout the month of December. The walleye fish were sold by Rusty’s Antique Mall last summer to commemorate the Cabela’s Walleye Fishing Tournament in Marinette. The walleye were cut from mild steel by Wildlife Décor, purchased by local businesses and community members who had them painted by some local artists and were featured in the Marinette EagleHerald and displayed throughout the Marinette and Menominee Community.
James LaMalfa will be running model trains in the Art Gallery Room of Spies Public Library Dec. 9 and 16, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, persons may contact the Spies Public Library, 906-863-2900.
