Kennedy installed as Camp 266 commander
Patrick Kennedy, Menominee, was installed as commander of Camp 266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) at its annual meeting by Department of Michigan Commander David W. Smith, Traverse City, Mich.
The SUVCW is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Organized in 1881 and chartered by Congress in 1954, it is the legal successor to the Grand Army of the Republic. The camp in the Upper Peninsula focuses on locating and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans and presenting programs about the history of the Civil War.
