Tammy was abducted from her home in the middle of the night July 10, 1987, when she was 11 years old. During the 2 1/2 years before her body was recovered in Georgia, the family says the Marinette Police Department never gave up and her case was never far from the forefront. Jeff Skorik, retired police chief, took a personal interest in the case.
Because of the efforts made in Tammy’s case, the scholarship fund awards high school seniors of Menominee and Marinette who are entering a higher education program to study law enforcement. Twenty scholarships have been awarded since the fund was begun.
