MENOMINEE — The Menominee American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 146 paid tribute to Anna Mae Amerman for her dedication to the American Legion family and the community.
Amerman was born in Menominee and in 1974, became a member of the ALA through her husband, Army Sergeant First Class Louis Amerman who served 21 years in the military. She is the mother of three daughters  and has served the unit as chaplain and secretary as well as program chairperson for Americanism, Children and Youth (Angel Tree), Girls State and Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation. An advocate to veterans, military and their families, Amerman believes that membership is meaningful to the community and to local government, and affords them the opportunity to mentor youth and demonstrate goodwill to all.
For more information, persons may call Connie Kewley, Public Relations chairman, at 906-863-8745 or visit the unit at 818 1st St., Menominee.
