Celebrating 100
Alice Kartheiser celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday. Born in 1916, Alice Charlotte Emelia Benson was the second daughter of Ellen and Jim Benson. Kartheiser was born and raised in Menominee and remembers the days of her youth helping out on the family’s farm in Carney-Nadeau, and walking to and from school each day from her home near Henes Park. Alice married Norman Kartheiser on May 24, 1941 in Menominee. They went on to raise three children, twins Frank and Karen, and younger daughter, Jean. Alice is shown at her party with son Frank Kartheiser, daughter Jean Garman and grand-daughter Maggie Smith.
