Taking care of a spouse, parent, neighbor or friend who is facing Alzheimer’s or other related dementia can be overwhelming and challenging at times.
Share The Care is a way to organize a group of family, friends and neighbors to offer and provide much-needed support. With an easy-to-follow, step-by-step model and assistance from a Share The Care coach, a group can be formed to help a person stay independent, living at home, connected to their community and supported, by those who care. In Marinette County, Share The Care is facilitated by Marinette County Elderly Services who provide support, resources, education and planning needed for success.
The Share The Care coach will walk the person needing help and/or a care partner or friend through the program, identifying everyone’s needs and desires, hopes and dreams of staying at home and remain active in their community. The coach will also help identify two key people who will learn about Share The Care and assist with the organizing the details.
Share The Care™ Wisconsin is a statewide program and there is no cost.
