GREEN BAY — Wisconsin Public Service (WPS), through the WPS Foundation, is offering its annual safety grants to emergency response agencies in northeastern and north central Wisconsin this spring. Grant applications are being accepted now through June 15.

Last year, the WPS Foundation awarded $50,000 total to 28 emergency response agencies throughout its service area, helping them purchase equipment or provide professional training for their staff. Since the grant was established in 2014 as part of the WPS Foundation’s 50th anniversary, more than $205,000 has been awarded to 116 departments to help improve safety and response capabilities.

In order to be eligible to receive the grant, emergency response agencies must demonstrate the equipment or training they wish to acquire is part of a well-detailed effort to improve public safety. Organizations that received a grant in 2017 are not eligible to receive a grant again this year.

Emergency response agencies interested in the WPS Foundation’s safety grants can apply online. More detailed information on the grant and the application guidelines can be found on the WPS website.
