MENOMINEE—Two new local businesses have opened in Menominee: Sifted Treasures and Twisted Ivy Shoppe Vintage and Antiques. They are located at 107 10th Ave. and 109 10th Ave., respectively.

Sifted Treasures sells “a little bit of everything” according to the owner, Lorrie Stone. “We have antiques, gifts, collectibles and homemade goods.”

The handmade goods include: aprons, welcome signs, crocheted items, brooms and more. They are all products made by local artists and craft-makers.

Stone said she is always looking for more artists to work with and buying these items from her store is a great way to support local artists.

Twisted Ivy Shoppe Vintage and Antiques, which is right next door, has also opened recently. This shop started in a room in Sifted Treasures, but quickly outgrew the space and now is in its own store next door, according to Stone. It is currently run by Stacy Seguin and her partner Ken Robison.

“We have a large, large collection various vintage items and art,” Seguin said. “We have something for everybody.”

She says Twisted Ivy Shoppe sells everything from furniture to knickknacks, and “everything we sell is a collectors’ item.”

Seguin also said there is a library section of their store that is interactive to store patrons.

“You can try on the vintage wedding dresses to take pictures and listen to the old records and cassettes before you buy them.” Costumers are allowed to read the books, newspapers, listen to music, try on clothes and more.

If a costumer come to the shop looking for something specific, “We’re always willing to research the items and find them for the costumers if we don’t already have it in stock,” Seguin said.

Seguin also noted, they now have weekly sales that last from Monday through Sunday. Each week the sales are based on a different theme, which can be seen in the front window of the store.

The stores are open daily. Sifted Treasures is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Twisted Ivy Shoppe is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
