MENOMINEE — Baron Financial will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting event from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at 2005 10th St. in Menominee. There will also be a reception, which is open to the public. Baron Financial is a part of LPL Financial, which is the largest independent financial services company in the nation.

Vince Baron, the owner, has been working as a financial adviser for two years. He is licensed in several states, including in Michigan and Wisconsin and several surrounding areas. He is also a member of the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce and is the chair of the Young Professionals Club. Previously, Baron worked as a chef and said that he changed careers after realizing that his restaurant, the Table Six Menominee would not make the financial goals he and his wife were hoping for.

“I took a David Ramsay course, which was a one-on-one educational course on financial planning,” Baron said. “Sometime after that, I also met a financial adviser who took me on board and I realized that I could make a living helping people financially.”

He said he hopes to help educate his clients on investment.

“A lot of people are scared to invest because they fear it will cause them to lose all of their money,” Baron said. “I feel that a lot of financial advisers don’t sit down and take the time to explain to their clients what’s going on and why when it comes to investing.”

“I chose to go the independent route with my practice because I would like to give my clients the best options, and not just sell proprietary products,” he added. Being an independent also allows him to offer lower fees, he noted.

Baron Financial provides life insurance, broker accounts, works with small businesses to create retirement plans and offers free portfolio reviews for clients. Baron said that he does not have a specific type of client, and is willing to work with a wide range of potential clients.

“My goal is for my clients to look at their retirement account statement 10 even 20 years from now and say ‘wow, I’m sure glad I switched to Baron Financial!’” Baron said.

He said he hopes his firm can help raise the socio-economic status of the community.
