PESHTIGO — BPM Inc., specialty paper manufacturer of food grade packaging, interleave, and confectionery wraps, has recently passed the re-certification audit for the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Food Safety Program. The Safe Quality Food Safety Program is a recognized standard used by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an industry-driven organization dedicated to the safety of the food supply chain by fostering sound food safety management system controls. Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to the food industry, presented BPM with the internationally recognized SQF certification.

The accomplishment places BPM among the top that passed the two-day plant audit, but also registered an excellent score.

“I am proud of BPM’s hard work to maintain and earn the SQF re-certification ,” said Jim Koronkiewicz, General Manager of BPM. “Completing another successful audit demonstrates our responsibility to exceed food safety and quality standards. The certification verifies our dedication and shows current and potential customers that they can count on us to deliver customer satisfaction, provide paper products, and flexible packaging for food manufacturers and distributors.”

There are three levels of certification for the SQF standard and the Food Safety Program benchmarked by GFSI ensures companies worldwide are held to the same universal food safety standard. The scope of BPM’s registration, under the SQF Food Safety Certification, includes the manufacturing of processed meats and poultry.

BPM specializes in the manufacturing of specialty papers, flexible packaging and converted materials for the food service, meat, cheese, and confectionery industries. Based in Peshtigo, BPM also provides full-service toll printing, converting and in-house capabilities to add coating to flexible packaging products.
